Don Pedro’s opened in 1994, which in Sayulita terms makes it an institution twice over, given how much of the town has turned over since. It sits at the southern end of the beach under a large thatched palapa, with a sand patio and bar where the surfers on the point break are in full view. The kitchen runs Mediterranean with a Mexican accent, more ambitious than the beach around it. Salsa Night lands every Monday at eight in season, with lessons at seven for anyone willing to be bad at something in public, and Thursdays bring gypsy flamenco. Come for the palapa and the pangas pulled up on the sand, stay because the music turned up.
