Palm Beach has plenty of places to drink, but only one where a siren goes off. Pelican Nest sits out on Pelican Pier between the Holiday Inn and Playa Linda, built over the water so the turquoise is under your feet rather than off in the distance, and when happy hour starts the whole pier hears about it. The specialty of the house is the jumbo frozen cocktail. The Summer Love packs tequila, triple sec, vodka, mango and passion fruit, then gets a bottle of beer upended in it for reasons nobody has adequately explained. Order the two-person version and you get two bottles. Seafood people go for Martin’s Platter. The bar menu runs 11 to 7, the sunsets are free, and the walk back to your resort is short.
