Cornie’s opens at seven in the morning and closes at two in the afternoon, the exact inverse of everything else on this boardwalk, which tells you who it is for. The johnnycakes are the reason: split and filled with egg, cheese and ham, on bread baked on the grill that same morning. There is a shrimp and conch omelette if you want to go further into it. Cornie himself is usually there, and people write reviews about meeting him rather than about the food, which is its own kind of recommendation. The bar runs full despite the hours and a frozen margarita costs about what a coffee does elsewhere. Closed Sundays. If your ship docks early, this is the first good decision available to you.
