Playa Larga runs long and open east of Zihuatanejo, a different animal from the sheltered horseshoe at La Ropa, with real surf and a fraction of the people. Puerta Paraiso works as a base for a day out there: pool access included, food and drinks brought to you, and the kind of rustic chic setup that has not yet been copied fifty times over on this beach. Getting there is a taxi rather than a walk, which is exactly why it stays quiet. Come for the day rather than dropping in, and check the surf before you plan on swimming.
Note: This one runs as a beach club rather than a walk-up bar. Expect a day pass, a minimum spend, or both. Worth knowing before you wander in barefoot expecting a bar stool.
