A relaxed, intimate bar and gathering spot in Vieques delivering cold tropical cocktails and the warm, unhurried island character of Puerto Rico’s most beautiful offshore island. Mar Azul means blue sea, and the sea surrounding Vieques (including the extraordinary bioluminescent Mosquito Bay that glows electric blue at night) delivers on the name with an extraordinary natural color palette that makes every cold drink taste like a gift. The remote, car-ferry-access island character of Vieques keeps it genuine; Mar Azul captures that character with cold drinks and genuine island warmth.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet

The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to The Mar Azul Vieques yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
