Sharkies is at 10 Surf Drive in Surfside Beach, a block from the shoreline, with an outdoor patio done up in surf gear and live music on the calendar. The house move is a Surf Burger basket, and the kids menu is called For the Squirts, which tells you the register the place is operating in. Surfside is a village of a few hundred people with miles of open Gulf beach, and the entire dining scene fits on one hand. Sharkies is the one people go to after the sand. It sits ninety minutes from Houston, which is the whole reason the town exists, and it has not been discovered in any way that would ruin it. Bring sand in with you. Everybody does.
