Open-air bar perched on top of the 61st Street Fishing Pier over the Gulf of Mexico: the best view on Galveston Island from a bar stool, full stop. Affordable drinks, friendly bartenders, Gulf breezes, and the surreal pleasure of watching people fish directly below you while sipping a Blue Galveston Piña Colada. A hidden gem that locals guard fiercely.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet

The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to Pelican and The Shark yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
