We haven't made it to this bar yet, but here is what we know

Locals call it POW, which is appropriate given what it does to your afternoon. Prince O’Whales is the essential drink stop after a day at Dockweiler Beach, the only beach in LA County where bonfires are still allowed, and it has been the after-bonfire landing pad for Playa del Rey longer than anyone can specifically remember. There is absolutely nothing special about the bar itself, which is precisely why everybody loves it. This is an ancient dive in the best possible sense: unpretentious, affordable, gloriously nondescript. Walk in off Culver Boulevard still sandy, order a beer, and understand immediately why this neighborhood has no interest in gentrifying its watering hole.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet
The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to Prince O’Whales Playa del Rey yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
