Pier 6 sits at the end of 6th Street in San Leon, out on Galveston Bay, and it is the polished one in a town that mostly is not. The open-air patio hangs out toward the water and catches whatever the bay is doing, and there are waterfront bungalows attached if you want to make a night of it. This is a peninsula full of bait camps and dive bars, so a place doing a proper cocktail and a raw bar with a bay view reads as a change of pace rather than a betrayal. Come for the sunset, which on this side of the bay drops straight into the water with the Houston shipping lanes out in the distance. The oysters are the reason to sit at the bar.
