La Palapa sits at Esperanza on Punta Ballena, on a private cove partway along the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The setting is the argument: an open palapa above a small protected beach on a coast where most of the water is too rough to get into, with the Sea of Cortez doing the work. Breakfast here is the meal locals recommend and the one that justifies the drive.
