Apalachicola is having something of a moment, the Forgotten Coast is getting discovered, slowly, by people who drove past Panama City and kept going because they wanted something more real. Half Shell Dockside sits right in the middle of that scene, a waterfront oyster bar and seafood spot on Apalachicola Bay where the motto is essentially: the bay is right there, the oysters just came out of it, and your only job is to eat them while watching the shrimp boats. The casual waterfront vibe is exactly what Apalachicola does best, unhurried, genuinely local, and priced for people who actually live here. The fried shrimp and fish tacos get repeated mentions. One of those bars that makes you wonder why you ever bothered with the more crowded sections of the Gulf.
