Deep in Somerset County in Westover, Goose Creek Pit and Pub combines serious slow-smoked BBQ with a pub format and the genuinely remote Eastern Shore character of one of Maryland’s least-visited counties. The BBQ is the draw; the pub atmosphere is comfortable; and the whole operation has the direct, unfussy character of a place that exists because a community out here deserves a good bar and a great rack of ribs. A long way off the tourist circuit; completely worth the detour.
