A beloved Sea Bright institution on the narrow barrier strip where the Shrewsbury River meets the Atlantic, Donovan’s Reef is one of the most storied beach bars on the Monmouth County Shore: a sprawling outdoor waterfront bar with live music, cold cocktails, and the warm, community-rooted energy of a bar that has been the anchor of Sea Bright’s tight-knit beach community through decades of hurricanes, floods, and the relentless Jersey Shore summers that keep bringing everyone back. Cold drinks, the Atlantic right there, and the particular warmth of a Shore bar that genuinely belongs to its town.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet

The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to Donovan’s Reef Beach Bar yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
