On Ramrod Key between Marathon and Key West, Boondocks is the kind of bar that rewards the deliberate detour. Claiming to have the largest tiki structure in the entire Florida Keys, this sprawling waterfront destination combines a proper draft house with a full restaurant, live music, and the most unexpected amenity in the lower Keys: an 18-hole mini golf course where you can carry a bucket of beer through the whole round. The fish is fresh, the drafts are cold, the live music lineup is consistently good, and the overall vibe is the Keys at peak relaxed. It lacks a direct water view compared to some, but everything else more than compensates.
