The cultural heartbeat of Grayton Beach and one of the most beloved bars in all of Florida, the Red Bar opened in 1995 in a former general store and has been pulling in a devoted mix of locals, musicians, artists, celebrities, and 30A regulars ever since. Belgian owner Oli Petit rebuilt it faithfully after a devastating 2019 fire, preserving every inch of the funky bohemian character — Christmas lights, disco ball, album covers floor-to-ceiling, European antique chandeliers — that makes the place impossible to replicate. The jazz house band plays nightly, the Bloody Mary is called “the house salad,” the crab cakes are legendary, and the panned chicken over mashed potatoes is the comfort food equivalent of a perfect day at the beach. Jim Carrey celebrated his birthday here during The Truman Show filming. A true 30A institution.
