The Cove describes itself as a beachfront cafe bar, which is closer to accurate here than at most places that use the phrase. It sits beside Hope Cove in Bigbury Bay, South Devon, tucked in near the cliffs with the sea a few steps off and picnic benches out front.
It works as a tourist stop and a local one at the same time, which is usually a decent sign about a place. Nobody is moving you off a bench.
