Lusty Glaze sits in a privately owned cove just north of Newquay, down at sand level with the cliffs closing in behind it. Private cove usually means a rope and a cover charge. Here it mostly means the place is quiet on a Tuesday.
On weekend nights a DJ sets up behind a neon-lit pink and white boat and the sand in front of the bar becomes the dancefloor. Come earlier in the day, or on a weeknight, and it is the waves and not much else. Two fairly different bars depending on when you walk in, so decide which one you came for.
