A Nantucket institution and the island’s most beloved dive bar and live music venue, the Chicken Box on Dave Street has been hosting legendary summer concerts and keeping Nantucket’s year-round community sane through the off-season since 1972. Cold cheap beers, live bands, pool tables, and the democratic mixing of Nantucket’s summer millionaires and year-round working residents that only a proper dive bar can facilitate. The Box is where Nantucket stops performing and starts being itself.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet

The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to The Chicken Box yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
