Rocky’s sits in a small stand of trees on Morne Rouge Beach, better known locally as BBC Beach, a short walk down the sand from the road at La Plywood. The wooden structure is compact and unpretentious, built for people looking for a real Grenadian beach bar rather than a stop on the island-tour circuit, and Rocky keeps it that way on purpose. Carib and Stag are the beers of choice, and the rum punch and pina coladas have a loyal following among regulars. The kitchen only fires up on weekends, turning out proper island bbq (think lobster, oxtail, tuna) that’s worth planning your beach day around. Open Saturday and Sunday only, so don’t show up on a Tuesday expecting a pour. Low, slow, and exactly as advertised.
