The Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal is not where you’d normally go looking for a great bar. Grain on the Rocks figured that out in 2015 and built one there anyway, inside the terminal building right on Delaware Bay. The setup is absurd in the best possible way: two bars, a beer garden, an outdoor deck, and a raw bar, all pointing at the water while ferries glide past toward New Jersey. Order an Orange Crush, get the crab cakes, and watch the boats come in. On a clear evening you can see all the way across the bay. They don’t take reservations (first come, first served), which keeps it honest. Come by boat if you want: free docking.
