Beachview Drive east of Ocean Springs runs out toward Simmons Bayou and gets quieter the further you go. The Bayou Restaurant & Tiki Bar is out there at 2411, facing the bayou, with live music on a regular basis and a tiki bar that means it. This is well off the Highway 90 casino corridor, which is the point. Simmons Bayou is the kind of water that changes color four times in an afternoon and has herons standing in it, and the bar is built to look at that rather than at a parking lot. Ocean Springs is the tree-shaded, arty counterweight to Biloxi across the bridge, and this is where the town goes when it wants water and a rum drink and no crowd.
