A Hanalei institution since 1963 and one of the most beloved and most genuinely legendary dive bars in all of Hawaii, the Tahiti Nui was founded by Louise Marston, a Tahitian woman whose warmth and force of personality built a bar that became the social center of Kauai’s north shore community and attracted everyone from local fishermen to Hollywood celebrities filming in the surrounding mountains and valleys.
