Westpunt is the far northwest tip of Curacao and Playa Forti is the restaurant sitting on the cliff above the bay. Two things bring people here. The view, which takes in the fishing boats and the whole western end of the island, and the jump. The cliff right there at the restaurant is around forty feet down into clear water, with a steep ramp and a set of steps for getting back up, or down, depending on your nerve. The sand below is coarse and brown rather than postcard white, and there is almost no shade, so the terrace with a cold drink is arguably the smarter play. Order, sit, and watch other people work up the courage. Somebody always does.
