On the Rhode River in Galesville, Pirate’s Cove is one of the Bay’s most-beloved dock bars: a classic open-air waterfront bar where boaters tie up alongside locals for cold drinks, live music on weekends, and the easy-going summer pace of the West River community. The dock-and-dine crowd is loyal, the crab selection is consistent, and the combination of live music, water views, and an unpretentious welcoming atmosphere makes this a legendary stop on the Chesapeake boating circuit.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet

The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to Pirate’s Cove Restaurant and Dock Bar yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
