In a town of surfers and laid-back attitudes, Loggerhead’s fits right in. It’s an unassuming bar and restaurant that looks like it just grew there organically.
The bar itself is a deck alongside the restaurant, and the entire place is elevated one story above street level (we did not check for wheelchair access, so if that is a concern be sure to check with them!). The bar is large, with seating on 3 sides and a large TV on the closed end.
The bar top is mesmerizing – it’s an epoxy top that encases sand, bottle caps, bikini tops, shards of beer bottles and other beach shrapnel in it. Bonus points for such a beachy vibe!
The Full Story
Loggerhead’s is a proper beach bar through and through — just don’t expect sweeping ocean views. Parked across from a condo building with an open ground-level lot, you catch only teasing glimpses of sand and surf through the gaps. But the salt air is real, the vibe is right, and a vintage VW pickup converted into seating sits at the heart of it all. It’s a beach bar setting that earns its stripes.
The menu covers everything from conch fritters to steak and fresh seafood, and the regulars raved about it all. As proper beach bums, we were mostly impressed by the 20+ beers on tap, robust cocktail menu, THC drinks and tasty looking non-alcoholic drinks (if you’re into such things).
Insider Tips:
- If you’re a Philly fan – this bar is for you!
- Don’t miss checking out the bar top – it’s a great touch
Beach Bar Bum’s Prime Seat:
Grab yourself a seat at the bar on the west side on the farthest south corner. You’ll get to enjoy a peekabo look at the ocean, but be aware that the the sun will be directly on your back, so if it’s a hot one it could get a little brutal. In that case, opt for the other side of the bar, but your back will be to the water.
