On the Santa Rosa Sound side of Pensacola Beach at 800 Quietwater Beach Road, Flounder’s Chowder House has been one of the Gulf Coast’s most beloved waterfront bar and restaurant institutions since 1979. The sprawling outdoor deck hangs over the water, tiki torches line the dock, cold Gulf Coast seafood comes fresh off local boats, and live music runs every night from multiple stages. The Thursday night beach parties have been a rite of summer for generations of Pensacola Beach regulars. The view of the sound, the boat traffic, and the Pensacola Bay Bridge at sunset is one of the finest in the entire Florida Panhandle.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet

The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to Flounder’s Chowder House yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
