On Stocking Island across the harbor from George Town, Exuma, Chat N Chill is the Bahamas’ most quintessential beach bar: a water taxi ride delivers you to an open-air bar, outdoor grill, volleyball beach, conch salad shack, and a population of wild stingrays that wade right up to the shore to be hand-fed. The Washington Times called it a place that feels destined to become a Jimmy Buffett song. Sunday pig roasts, cold Kalik beers, fresh-made conch salad, and the best beach volleyball in the Out Islands. The stingrays do not charge admission.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet

The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to Chat ‘N’ Chill yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
