We haven't made it to this bar yet, but here is what we know

Brookings sits at the very bottom of the Oregon Coast, a few miles north of the California border, where the Chetco River meets the Pacific and the climate is warm enough that palm trees actually survive. The 101 Bar is what Portland Monthly calls one of the essential Oregon Coast bars: a proper small-town dive on the main drag that serves as the social anchor for a town without much competition for the title. The beer is cold, the bar has history, and Brookings has the warmest average temperatures on the Oregon Coast precisely because it borrowed some sun from California. End-of-the-road energy in the best possible way.

Filed under our Oregon coast rundown, where the rest of them live.

We Haven’t Been Here Yet
The Beach Bar Bum hasn’t made it to 101 Bar yet. Budget cuts, tragic. But there’s water, drinks, and zero shoe policy, so it’s on the list. We just need a brave soul to confirm it’s real, preferably with a cold drink in hand.
